Reese Witherspoon began seriously pursuing her acting career after first enrolling at Stanford University. Early successes in her acting career included films such as Pleasantville and Election however, her performance in the film Elle Woods was the turning moment for her. Witherspoon was honored with one Academy Award, in 2005 in her role as Walk the Line. Water for Elephants, This Means War, and Wild are some of her recent films.
