Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou, the oldest of four children, was born on the 8th of August 1976 in Beaumont Puy-de-Domme. Her parents, a dentist and teacher recognized and supported her love of theater and acting at an early age, which superseded an initial desire to become a primatologist due to her passion for monkeys. Her fame grew as a child actress quickly and enjoyed huge achievement. After completing her studies, she participated in the French talent-spotting TV show Jeunes Premiers that was sponsored by Canal+. She won the award for the best young Actress award at Beziers Festival of Young Actors and began her professional career as an actor. Tautou was raised in a Catholic family and attended religious services, despite having went to school within the Institut Catholique de Paris. Along with her acting career, she pursued a modeling career. Also, she is the face of L'Oreal Mont Blanc & Chanel and is sometimes referred to as the Chanel Muse. Photographing is also a hobby and she has recently displayed her work at the Arles festival with the name Superficial. Her photos are mostly about famous people and celebrities. Audrey Tautou's international recognition and popularity exploded after her appearance in the film as Amelie Poulain's leading actress in the film Le Fabuleux Destin of Amelie Poulain. Amelie won international acclai box office success and received acclaim at awards ceremonies all over the world. Amelie was the highest-rated French-language film in the US. After this film's success, Tautou appeared in a wide range of movies ranging from British dramas such as Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things to Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Un long dimanche de fiancailles and moving into Hollywood with Ron Howard's direction of the Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code with Tom Hanks.
